Day 4: Take Action
This is the one of the hardest, yet most important days of the 5. It is hard because it will require you to most likely step into something that feels scary or uncomfortable. And it is the most important day because without action you’ll be left stuck in a life you don’t want to be living.
On day 3 we decided what we want to choose to believe about the situation we find ourselves in and today we will use that new belief to inspire us and provide us the emotions to help us take action.
For me with my work situation, this looks like dwelling on the belief that I am a good programmer and I will be able to solve any problems, which brings me confidence, which I can then use to actually begin the work of making the update.
Now, when I begin to do the work I will undoubtably begin to continue to feel some of that anxiety from before and that’s okay! That’s normal.
The key to help me press on, and that will help you press on, is that because we’ve done the hard work of the previous days to have a better emotional understanding of the situation, we can then better remind ourselves we’re okay, remind ourselves what is really true about the situation, and then continue to take small steps of faith to press through knowing we have nothing to fear.
By continuing to dwell on what we know to be true about our situation will continue to generate more and more feelings of confidence that will continue to help us take those small steps of action that will ultimately help us to be living the lives we want to be living.
So my challenge to you today is to remind yourself of what is true and take one small step of action. Continue to repeat this process and I promise you you will begin to be living the life you want to live.
